Mater Academy's Student Government Association serves a primary purpose of leading, inspiring, and motivating fellow peers, as well as constantly setting the example and not becoming the exception. We are a group composed of every grade level, each with a drive for leadership and a desire to make a difference. We are a group of students who have decided to go above and beyond to coordinate events for Mater Academy such as the Leadership Conference, Faculty Appreciation Lunch, and the Garage Sale. We see a need to make a difference in not only our school but our community and SGA can only be defined as a lifestyle where you choose to serve others. A leader in SGA is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.

 

     The purpose of SGA is to serve the school by representing the student, and its concerns, and communicating these concerns to the faculty and administrators. Furthermore, the purpose of SGA is to present various opportunities for students to participate in educational, social, and cultural experiences not otherwise provided in the curriculum. Membership is what drives this club to succeed and prosper. Any Mater Academy student is eligible to join Student Government in the beginning of the year and serve as a part of the Student Government’s Membership Body.
